Bookkeeper

With minimal supervision, create and maintain the tax accounting records for our clients using QuickBooks Online, Xero, QuickBooks Desktop, and other various accounting software applications. Reconcile all accounts as needed. Assist in running and customizing reports that provide business analysis and results. Perform banking functions as required. Maintain regular communication with clients.

$22 - $26 an hour - Full-time

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Bookkeeping duties include maintaining internal records and assisting clients with the following:

  • Support clients and other team members with bookkeeping and accounting services.

  • Create and maintain vendor records, including contact information, payment terms, and any other information required.

  • Create and maintain customer records including contact and payment information.

  • Perform all activities related to the accounts payable function

  • Perform account receivable functions

  • Record client bank transactions as needed. Download bank transactions into bank accounts, and access customer banks through read-only permissions.

  • Provide financial reports for clients

  • Compile year-end client 1099 information, as needed

  • Answer basic questions from clients about financial statements

  • Follow up with clients regarding required documents.

  • Collecting information for auditing purposes

  • Maintain accurate documentation physically and digitally.

  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • 5+ years full charge bookkeeping experience

  • Excellent knowledge of computers. Work fluently with Microsoft Office and Windows operating systems.

  • Ability to work with numerical data.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

  • QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop ProAdvisor certifications

  • Complete Xero Online Certification within first 3 months of employment.

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

  • High school Degree or Equivalent
